Caribbean dreams are made of this....

This was my second time on Utila...so what can you expect...Well the nature is beautiful the water turquoise, the streets bustle with scooters, quad bikes, motos and bicicletas. As a Bica volunteer you will have the pleasure of being ferried around in the Bica mobil (golf cart), but if that isn't your style then you can hop on the one pedalled bica bike and when you become a real hippie you can ditch your flip flops and go feral.

My friend Daisee and I came to Utila to complete a masters project for Univeristy in the UK. Bica acted as our support team and were like a wonderful family. The team is amazing...Marina, Jenny, Pamela and Captain Harris and then all the volunteers of course. Watching the sun go down on the beach with lovely company and a big glass of delicioso Rum...what more can you want for field research!

The local Utilians are fantastic...baseball on Saturdays and Sundays is a must for the atmosphere and the banter! I have made wonderful friends on Utila they are some of the kindest and welcoming people I have ever met.

So my list of must dos...
1)Swim...swim...swim
2)Baseball
3)Dive
4) Vegetarian baleada at seven seas with arizona ice tea
5) Arroz con pollo, pollo frito, y papa ensalada at mermaids
6) Fish plate at the Cays
7) Friday night at Bar in the Bush
8)Drinks on the dock at Dados
9)Drinks at Crazy Dawg
10)...take it all as it comes and enjoy!
